1. This is a key. More than likely you will be able to open something that’s locked with it. Maybe a door, maybe a chest, maybe something more exotic than that. However, be careful that the rightful owner of the key doesn’t see you nicking it. |

2. This is a book. Given it’s whereabouts it’s probably something about the art of making weapons. To read it, just click on it. |

3. While this might look like a bug, this is actually an extremely handy feature. Characters that are walking behind an object are shown transparently through the object so that you can always locate them. |

4. This fellow is a guard. Disturb the public order, and he’ll probably draw his sword and tell you to ease down a bit. If you don’t, he’ll call his buddies and unless you make an escape, you’ll end up in the Rivertown jail. |

5. A chest. Click on it and if it’s not locked, a window will appear showing you what’s inside. |

6. Just some plates, but since the gameworld in Divine Divinity is highly interactive, you can pick them up, and move them around. There are some dishwashing mechanisms somewhere, so maybe you could try to clean them. |

7. A barrel. If you feel like some vandalism, try breaking it to see what happens. Mind that guard though. |
 |
8. Nothing like a free drink. The owner seems to be gone, so you might try to take a sip. |
 |
9. Hammers are excellent weapons. You can try to buy one, or just misplace the one that lies there. |
 |
10. A kitten seems to have found some gold pieces. Since the cat doesn’t have any use for it, you’re better of taken it yourself. |

11. A bucket of water. If you don’t like the water being in the bucket, you can spill it on the ground. |
 |
12. If you specialize in herbal lore, you’ll probably find some uses for this plant. In Divine Divinity, you can create potions and salves out of plants. |

13. Click on this button to pop up the in-game automap. |

14. Click on this button to access your journal, or your large automap which gives you an overview of all the places you’ve been. You’ll also find things like a questlog and a diary here. |

15. This very important button allows you to pause the game, and contemplate the situation. You can also give commands while the game is paused. |

16. This is the quick weapon button. Click on it, and you get an overview of all the weapons that you are carrying on you. |
 |
17. This is the quick skill button. Click on it to select a certain skill as your active skill. |
 |
18. The quick potion button. As with the other two quick buttons, it gives you rapid access to all the potions you are carrying upon your person. |

19. The research panel. By clicking on this button, a window pops up where you can decide which skills you would like to research. |
 |
20. Your personal statistics button. This gives you an overview of your characteristics like strength,dexterity etc… |

21. The game options button. Use this one for saving,loading or configuration settings. |
 |
22. This is the combat switch. You use it to toggle between combat and non combat mode. |
 |
23. This button pops up a window that shows you the stuff you are currently wearing. |
 |
24. The inventory button pops up a window showing you the stuff you are carrying with you. |
 |
25. This red bar indicates how healthy you are. If you don’t see it anymore, you’re dead. |
 |
26. The blue bar indicates how much magical points you have. If you don’t see it anymore, you can’t cast spells anymore. |

27. This small bar shows how much experience points you need to reach the next level. |
 |
28. And this small bar shows how much experience points you need to research your next skill. |
 |
29. This bar then shows your current stamina situation. |
