got the english version from the Larian shop.

1. Saves say "Labguage incompatible save"
2. I start a new game and none of the dialoge menu other than the numbers are displayed.

I downloaded the english version.

Ver of D2 is 1.49.38 English (united States)

Did you try a clean install of D2:ED and then FoV? (uninstall FoV/D2:ED, reboot, make sure there is nothing left in the D2 folder (saves are stored elsewhere), then install D2:ED and FoV)

In XP the saves are in the folder

C:\Documents and Settings\ %username% \Local Settings\Application Data\Divinity 2\Savegames

or in Vista / Win 7

C:\Users\ %username% \AppData\Local\Divinity 2\Savegames

You may need to set Windows Explorer to show hidden files and folders (XP, Vista, Win 7).

BTW, on an unrelated note, what is the download size of FoV? That isn't listed on the Larian Vault product page.

Tried that. Didnt help.

I can start a new game at FOV just fine. text is there all is good.

If I start a new game from the beginning, the dialog options are all blank.

I installed D2 then FOV. No patched in between. Should I uninstall and install the patch then FOV?

Did you email support@larian.com, as well? It is the middle of the night there now, but hopefully they will be in early tomorrow.

There should not need to be a D2:ED patch installed before installing FoV, or you'd think that would have been clearly stated in some install notes, or a warning given when installing the add-on.

What version of D2:ED do you have? I assume English, but what region, and DVD or digital download?

To be more specific - there are differences between the European and US english versions of Ego Draconis which is what is causing your problem.

The version of FOV you downloaded was for the European versions of Ego Draconis. We've fixed this now so that the English versions of FOV available on the store work with both US and European versions. The updated version should be available within the hour from the vault. We'll drop a note here when it's available.

So it's ok now - if you go to my products and download again, the installer will work with both US and UK versions.

Thanks guys.

Im at work at the moment. Soon as I get home, I will redownload and reinstall.

The little I played, looks really good. The stuttering is completely gone!

As a side note, any ETA on that patch to make D2+ FOV= DKS?

Just to make sure you manage to get everything working - you should first uninstall and revoke your activation prior to installing the new version.

Otherwise the two versions might get "confused" and you could run into strange things. I realize that's quite annoying, but otherwise you risk that even if the game starts up, you run into problems later on.

Does the revoke tool auto launch when I uninstall from the control panel or should I use D2's uninstaller?

The control panel just runs the program that was specified as the uninstaller when the game was installed; there should be no diffrence between the two.

I've bought FoV from gamersgate and it still hasn't been released.

I wish I'd bought it from Larian now.

It could be worse; you could be in school with a big test on Monday that you need to do well on. Now, I really should go study linear agebra....
