We're mostly gamers here in one form or another, so I thought I'd start a new thread to find out what people are playing at the moment, whether it's good, bad or indifferent.

If this is a repeat of an older thread, then I say poo to that...time for a new thread!

I'm currently playing:

Bioshock - the spiritual successor to one of my favourite older games 'System Shock 2'

It's creepy, and great to look at - with a good story. And even has Irish voice overs which makes it sound even more interesting to me.

Bad points are some technical issues which don't appear to be getting fixed anytime soon. I can't play it with the shaders on or it'll crash.

Medieval Total war 2 - I love big battles...smashy smashy... and great stragtey map too to play on.

All I'm playing now is The Kingdom of Loathing, a web-based CRPG. Loads of fun!

my PC is currently in the docks so i'm not playing anything at the moment. otherwise, it'll be replay of DS2 expansion.

Heroes Of Might & Magic III(I have the complete collection, so it has both expansions on it). I had completed HOMM I and HOMM II: Gold(which has the expansion on it as well) before this(complete with every single scenario). My plan is to play evey HOMM game there is(including V and it's expansion).

Now that's dedication for ya...I'm lucky if I complete one game never mind a series!

I'm also playing Freelancer - online. Old space game that has a new mod called Discovery - play it online, bit like a watered down version of EVE Online, but without the subscription fee (which is always good)

I started Second Life a little while ago, but it's eating our internet limit. So when I'm on slow internet again, I play Divine Divinity...again

i just got back my PC (a friend gutted it for spare parts which he replaced with newer & faster ones) & even though it's upgraded with some bells & whistles, i am not so happy. lost quite a huge chunk of data including save games (ok, maybe they're not so important), documents (now THOSE are), personal writings (*sob*), & collected pics (especially those abstract CG arts from artists no longer online).
oh well, i suppose i will get over it soon.

I still play Oblivion from time to time, but mostly Company of Heroes and Red Orchestra.

It still might be possible to recover lost data. I am not sure exactly how to do it, but I have read that there are ways to possibly recover them.
Posted By: AlrikFassbauer Re: What are people playing? - 12/09/07 04:10 PM
And there are professional recovering companies out there, you might check them out.

Posted By: janggut Re: What are people playing? - 13/09/07 01:22 AM
well my data are mostly non-commercial stuff (therefore personal) so i don't think i want to spend that kind of money on data recovery. besides, such services are very very expensive.

anyway, i am going to try out a method an online buddy suggested; use RescueCD (Linux OS) which is bootable & has utility to mount NTFS drive. this friend has used this successfully to recover data on crashed HD.

i still have hope.

To be on-topic :

I'm currently playing Ultima 7 through Exult.

The graphics are old, but the more I play it, the more I like it.

It reminds me very much of my beloved Nordlandtrilogie (Englisch version: Realms of Arcania).

I was quite happy to get it installed from the old floppies. SDome floppies from another Ultima package ("The first Trilogy") weren't readable anymore.

But on the other hand, I could get the floppies of Ultima Underworld 1 working as well.

The only *real* disadvantage is that the map of my version of Ultima 7 is printed on paper, and the numbers (coordinates) aren't very readable. But I've found a workaround for that with the handbook, which has at least the longitude and altitude lines in it.

On UltimaDot there's a good solution book in PDF format for that, if anyone tries to play it again.

And Exult, by the way, is a *huge* advantage over the old interface ! The words look much smoother, for example.

Do you have a link for the english version of Exult and do you need the Ultima VII disks to play? I own a couple of versions of Ultima VII, but I am not sure if they work anymore.

I have Ultima 7 Disquettes, thank you. I even managed to install the game from them under DOSBOX.
The most tedious point was when the install program wanted to "combine shapes" or so, which took about 10 Minutes under DOSBOX in my unspecial configuration. )

And I've already downloaded and installed Exult, I'm using it, than you.

You can find Exult here : http://exult.sourceforge.net/

When you change the screen resolution in Exult (you do this via opening the inventory and then cklicking onto the 5,24" floppy symbol), be sure that you'll have ALWAYS the inventory in the middle of the screen ... It happened to me twice that I had a high resolution and lowered it, in wchich the effect was that the inventory was outside the screen, so to say, and I couldn't play further on anymore.

I was glad as I found out that there also is a keyboard shortcut (I think it was with ALT) to change the screen resolution, because when the Avatar's inventory is outside the screen, you cannot change it back anymore through the menu.

- Forza 2
- Colin Mc Rae Dirt
- Burnout revenge (waiting for the new burnout paradise though)

on the 360 i'm waiting for:
- SKATE or tony hawk Proving grounds (depends on reviews, but TH seems to get the upperhand since skate tends to be too difficult)
- burnout paradise
- project gotham racing 4
- alan wake
- and lot's more

Not that I regularly post here, but I feel like contributing with the games I spend most of my game-playing time on these days:

City of Heroes/Villains. Superhero MMORPG programmed by Cryptic Studios and produced by NCSoft. It has a POWERFUL Costume editor to make your character look unique, and a pretty flexible skills system too. Not quite as popular as the big World of Warcraft, but in my opinion it's more fun at this time.

Titan Quest with the Immortal Throne expansion. Good ol' Diablo style RPG, with a skill system I find much better than either of the Diablo games.

Civilization 4 with Beyond the Sword expansion. Loves me Empire Building TBS, and in my opinion the BTS expansion brings Civ4 to be the best Civ game I've ever played. (And I've played from Civ1-4, Alpha Centauri with Alien Crossfire expansion, and both Call to Power games)

Wizardry 8. Fun little CRPG, little roleplay but I find the combats and system quite fun. Combats are turn-based, but the game world is 3D and you move around in real time when not fighting.

And of course I go back to and every little while. Such excellent Action RPGs.

Every single one of these, I play on my PC. Don't own any Consoles or Handhelds, and don't want to.

I mostly play World of Warcraft now, I would like to warn people: at higher levels the game can become very addictive(me being one of the addicts)!
I also play Guild Wars from time to time, and Oblivion or Dark Messiah when the internet is going slow or when it's down. And i play the Sims 2 when I don't feel like fighting things.
Would like to play The Witcher(which remembers me to go look for a demo), it looks quite a promising game.

Heh. World of Warcraft has eaten up a LOT of my free time. I have a 70 Warlock over on the Dalaran server, along with many alts (only two of which are over 60, though). I much prefer City of Heroes/Villains.

In between working hard, and taking care of wife and kid (i.e. all on the train to and from work), I'm playing Heroes of Might and Magic 4, Fallout Tactics, Evil Genius, StarCraft, Neverwinter Nights, or Arcanum.

Or 'go' (aka 'weiqi' or 'baduk') against an AI opponent, but I don't think that counts, right?

Posted By: Elliot_Kane Re: What are people playing? - 07/04/08 09:12 AM
Evil Genius is that one 2HD, yes. It's so nearly a brilliant game, but not quite, IMO. The developers deserve massive kudos for the attempt and it's quirky, funny and wholly original. If there were an EG2 I'd buy it tomorrow.

But there NEEDS to be an EG2 to make it fulfill its potential, sadly. There are just too many things they got not quite right that will annoy over time.

If you can get it at a good price, though, it's worth getting.

Is it just me (and various other concerned PC gamers) who thinks that PC gaming is on a serious decline?

I mean, in the next 6 months there's less than a handful of games that are worth any attention. And I don't think I'm talking about my personal game choices, I'm talking simply about any type of game worth any merit at all.

I'm getting Assassins Creed because there's not a single other release of any merit to me since I got Call of Duty 4 and Crysis waaay back in November. But then Assassins Creed looks quite interesting.

Far Cry 2
and....eh...

...whenever the next Larian game is out.
Posted By: isorun Re: What are people playing? - 08/04/08 10:03 PM
What about Devil May Cry 4? It's one of the titles I've really been looking forward to. Although this game is best played on console, I don't wanna buy a PS3 just to play DMC4, so I'll buy this one for PC.
Posted By: AlrikFassbauer Re: What are people playing? - 08/04/08 10:05 PM
Well, I think on the smaller Indies market there's something going on. Aquaria, for example, and now I'm playing the Virtual Villagers. smile

LucasArts, on the other hand, sucks, because they won't publish The Force Unleashed for PC.

Right now, I'm waiting for Drakensang, and there are several Adventures out on the German market I'd like to buy. smile

Posted By: Elliot_Kane Re: What are people playing? - 09/04/08 08:23 AM
There've been lean years before. I think the dev cycle is getting longer for PC games, though, which won't help.

At the same time, there are a few games that look interesting out this year:

Total War: Empire is the obvious one for me.
Hard To Be A God looks very intriguing.
We've already had Soulstorm and Kane's Wrath.
StarCraft 2 is due.
So Blonde looks like being fun.
Battlefield Heroes looks like being funny - AND free.
Sacred 2: Fallen Angel is due.
Europa Universalis: Rome will be out.
Tomb Raider: Underworld is due for a Xmas release.

Some of those I'm more interested in than others, obviously, but this actually looks like a pretty good year for games, to me. Especially as there's undoubtedly a ton of stuff I don't even know about yet...

That's pretty much what I'm talking about - games like that coming out on everything OTHER than the PC.

It makes business sense to make a game for the consoles and not the PC because you can charge more - there's none or almost no tech help required at all.

Crysis - one of the biggest PC games in years, sold only 80,000 copyies in America 1 month after release (from reports I read).

Call of Duty 4 sold 1.4 million on the XBOX360 alone in the first few weeks! Add the PC and PS3 and it should be many times that number.

The cost of PC hardware, great graphics cards, are nearly twice that of the Xbox360 now - the hardware market is smothering itself and the game industry is aware of it. Soon, only companies with time to spare will bother releasing something on the PC - having already made millions from the console versions. (Like Assassins Creed)
Posted By: AlrikFassbauer Re: What are people playing? - 10/04/08 09:20 PM
Plus, Microsoft is cannibalizing the PC gaming market with their XBOX ... And THEN they go into an "Alliance for PC gaming" ... Well, yeah, that's like inviting the burglar into protecting the gems ...
Posted By: twoheadedragon Re: What are people playing? - 11/04/08 02:35 AM
Many companies use "dirty tricks" to get their way, just watch the movie "Pirates of Silicon Valley" if you want a better picture... wink
Posted By: Viper Re: What are people playing? - 11/04/08 08:34 AM
i'm playing on my xbox 360 :
- Mass effect
- Forza Motorsport 2

on PC :
- star wars republic commando

and that's it since my 'PC' is a more than 3 year old laptop I can't play recent games on it
Posted By: Elliot_Kane Re: What are people playing? - 11/04/08 12:56 PM
There have always been plenty of games only available for one platform or another. I suspect what is changing really is that a lot more console games are now looking desirable to the PC player than ever before, while the increased complications of cross-platform builds have made ports less likely.

PCs still have utter dominance in terms of RTS games, but in most other areas that's no longer true.

There's also the piracy angle - or rather the perception of the piracy angle. Rightly or wrongly, a lot of games companies think most of their sales will be lost to piracy, which makes the PC format less attractive.
Posted By: twoheadedragon Re: What are people playing? - 11/04/08 02:15 PM
Here in Indonesia, most CD sales are pirated! I mean, according to official statistics the percentage of sales is 80 something % pirated, 10-20 % original: I think it's more like 93% pirated, 7% original! grin So here, PC games are a big hit, so are playstation games. But as for 360 and PS3, they are relatively new to Indonesia, putting them out of the price range of the average person, and based on what I've observed with other electronics they will probably be affordable in about 1-2 years... sad but never mind, I'm content with just a PC. wink

Then i have to work too wink

but when i blow all that off sometimes to unstress and slack
i would make time or abuse it and play

Battlefield 2142 (large scale 64 person futuristic team based warfare)
Europa Barbarorum v1.1 (total conversion mod project for rome total war)
and im still stuck in that dumb wow game yeah i know, just have rl friends that are in it too and we hang out together on there as well.

which brings me to warhammer online age of reckoning

Back on track now - I'm currently playing

Assassins Creed (PC)

Such a pretty pretty game...

I can see were the repitition can be a problem. With such a great looking open world you wish you could interact more with everything around you. Instead you spend time doing the same tasks each time, so that you can get to your assassination. PC version benefits from 4 extra mission types in order to address that variety problem - I think it helps at lot, plus they more interesting to do than the default ones from the consoles.

I love the story so far, and many said before that it's the story that drives you through this game.

Of course having it looking so nice helps as well - Playing with maxed out everything, including max anti-alias, and at 1440 x 900 res.

I think I can help with that. As found on another forums, there's an official patch for running Alpha Centauri (with or without the expansion, Alien Crossfire) on Windows 2000 or XP. It can be found at Firaxis Game's downloads page. Also located there are the ordinary bug fix/balancing patches.

If the game gives you an error upon launching it that your CPU is not supported, try opening the Alpha Centauri.ini file in your Alpha Centauri directory with a standard text editing program. Change the line saying "ForceOldVoxelAlgorithm=0" to "ForceOldVoxelAlgorithm=1", save the file, and try running Alpha Centauri again. It may still tell you your CPU isn't supported, but if you click OK it should load the game properly.

Hope this helps.
Posted By: Tito Re: What are people playing? - 23/04/08 09:07 PM
Wow, I have to try, one quick question, do the patches before installing Crossfire or after, and try that TEXT fix you mentioned b4 or after installing Crossfire? Do you know or have an order of events by chance? Your time and info is greatly appreciated... thanks man.
Posted By: Doomreaver Re: What are people playing? - 24/04/08 08:02 AM
I believe the order I used was:

 • Install Classic S.M.A.C.
 • Install the expansion.
 • Patch the expansion up to 2.0
 • Add in the XP fix
 • Attempted to start the game, was told my CPU wasn't supported.
 • Editted the .ini file

Since it was months, maybe even over a year since I last installed S.M.A.X. I'm not entirely sure if this is the order I went through, but if it's not the precise order it's at least quite close. (And I still have my copy installed currently.)

Bear in mind, if you install the expansion and patch it to 2.0, you do NOT need the 4.0 patch to the classic version.

Fallout 3, Morrowind (+ expansions), Mass Effect and The Witcher. Not to much time to play though due to studies. About 1 hour a week is much. smile
Posted By: Adomingues Re: What are people playing? - 14/07/09 01:11 PM
I think i'm geting old... not much of the recent games attract me all that much!

World of warcraft -> Was playing 1 hour a day -> Stoped now, no interest in new content.
Prototype -> Interesting game but boring after a couple hours.
Divine Divinity -> Still playing!
Baldurs Gate -> Starting from 1st with a new class combo.

Not many of new games realy hook me up to the screen, wich is a shame. Hoping on Divinity 2, Diablo 3 and Dragon Age mostly... If i dont like them, i go and start fishing in the evenings by the lake :P
Posted By: Lady_Rain Re: What are people playing? - 15/07/09 07:05 PM
I think i am with you on the "getting old" part smile

Its SAD when life becomes all about getting up early so you can get to work before traffic gets too bad frown

And just to make a point... i decided to install DD again now.... killing monsters may just be more therapeutic than anticipated. (I REALLY need to kill something - specially after work)

For the last 6 months... the only playing i got to do was in the exam halls... (i wrote 9 exams in the last 6 months - and have 3 to go in the next 2 months)

I miss everyone here.... so decided its time to start playing the good old games again (Just like you i have no fancy for the new games on the shelves currently - waiting patiently for D2 ED)

Off to monster slashing i go laugh

For me it's the Battle for Middle Earth 2 these days. I love buying old games and then play them until there's nothing left I didn't know/see/do in it. I'm thinking of buying the Rise of the Witch King expansion for it soon.

Need For Speed Undercover, don't know why I play it though. The game's way to bright, some types of races make completly no sense and the tuning consits of 6 sliders which you can set for top speed/acceleration. The game's good for some arcade racing, but I liked Pro Street more, even though in Pro Street you have no free driving.

In the German forum section about div2 there is a lot of discussing ... The international release is said to be in September ... Fully patched, I guess ... *sighs*
Posted By: DivineGamer Re: What are people playing? - 01/08/09 11:59 AM
Yeahh we have to wait until September.
Not far away now though.

I'm currently not playing anything.
My xbox crapped out buying a new one this week.
I was playing Sacred 2 though!

They better release in september. Dragon age origins is coming this way in October and Bioware's PR will blow Larian out of the water.
Posted By: AlrikFassbauer Re: What are people playing? - 02/08/09 06:41 PM
Yes, that's true.

But on the other hand, Dragon Age will not give the possibility to play as a dragon. wink

( I want a game to play as a Unicorn !!! delight )

Edit: Have you following the recent marketing campaign for Dragon Age ? I wonder which kind of customer group / target audience will pick up this "this is the new shit" stuff ?

At RPGWatch, there have been quite some discussions about it ...
Posted By: Morbo Re: What are people playing? - 03/08/09 09:48 PM
I saw a trailer last week. Seems like a goth dark game. And Bioware has the problem of only releasing hits :s
Posted By: AlrikFassbauer Re: What are people playing? - 04/08/09 11:00 AM
I'm really curious who will get this game, as their current marketing campaign is somewhat ... odd.
Posted By: Elliot_Kane Re: What are people playing? - 04/08/09 05:54 PM
I'll get Dragon Age as long as the DRM isn't excessive - which means no online activation and definitely no limited installs.

It has also been announced that the retail version of Dragon Age will not utilize the SecuRom copy protection software used by other EA games, opting instead for a standard disc check.

Hope this helps a bit.

I am currently playing Neverwinter Nights 2: Storm of Zehir with my brother, and so far I find it impressive how much it changes the game.

The addition of a world map in which you can walk around and find hidden things and stumble on random encounters is nice, but my favorite new thing is the new dialogue system, now every character close to the npc the party is talking to has a chance to talk. If one of the characters has something special that can be said thanks to one of his skills you'll see a small bubble on his portrait, and you can simply change to that character and say whatever he has to say. The player creates his own party of adventurers, but it is still possible to hire henchmen.

Overall it's much closer to the pen&paper experience, and it's something I truly enjoy. The one big downside is that the old NWN2 interface is poor when it comes to controling a full party.

Divine Divinity and Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. Both are great games. smile
Posted By: MistressRhiann Re: What are people playing? - 16/11/09 02:57 PM
Right at the moment I'm deeply in love with "Divinity II", so most of the time I use by my PC goes with playing it. But I like also "The Longest Journey" (I know it is old and the graphics are poor but still), "Dreamfall" and "Heroes of the Might and Magic V" (although I usually don't like the games with a lot of clicking with mouse). Oh yes, and I like "Drakan Order of the Flame" too, but it is so old my computer can't run it.

I love the games with lots of sword battles, dragons and beautiful landscapes. smile

HL2 ep2
maybe L4D2 soon but have no diskspace!!! damn why can't steam let me install files on another disk ..

In Windows Vista/7 you can use symbolic links to point to a file/folder at a different location, which most programs will handle just like accessing the original file/folder. One of the examples in this howto article is having Steam games outside the Steam folder.

Wait? so microsoft finally implemented what I've been using for years on *nix? just wow!

Thx for that btw, very helpful!
Posted By: AlrikFassbauer Re: What are people playing? - 20/11/09 08:46 PM
I think these "symbolic links" were already there in win experience points, but no-one actually used them, I think (although I'm not that sure) that I read in an article a while ago.

Bought "HOMM Complete" today for myself as a second belated birthday present (after King's Bounty). smile

Freakin' love it.

Warriors Orochi. Terrible game, really, but I love it anyway! laugh

It's basically a massive fighting game with 77 playable characters, all with different fighting skills. You just frantically press buttons until everything but you is dead. Holds a strange attraction for me... laugh

The least of my 77 characters is 80th level by now. Many have their top level weapon and in time all will.

Still a terrible game :P

The Flames of Vengeance part of Divinity II !!
Love this part and still only did soem talking and trading and a little bit fighting in some dungeons ... in between accepting many many new quests !! Marvelous, lovely, funny, nice looking NPC's and "music for my Earrings ..." !

O, that last I say is a joke ... but it will be o so funny and fantastic to find Earrings with a
"Kirill Music Album" on it !! Can you imagine .. ?!?
Posted By: Divine Avenger Re: What are people playing? - 01/09/11 07:51 AM
I can just see you walking down the street bopping your head to the music & people looking at you wondering why your wearing strange earrings & trying to figure out where the music is coming from lol
Posted By: Joram Re: What are people playing? - 01/09/11 08:03 AM
And to make it completely crazy funny, I hope to find new magical glases I can put on my noise so I can look at all "Dragon Commander Youtube video's" while walking on the street ... hoping to have not a hard smash with ..... rpg003
Best not to think about it !
Posted By: Divine Avenger Re: What are people playing? - 01/09/11 08:09 AM
Then you may as well go all out to make people afraid & have me flying overhead in dragon form ready to burn anything & everyone in your path so you don't walk into anything/anyone grin

I've been re-installing several DOS games using DOSBOX a few days ago ... I plan to play Arena as well (Elder Scrolls I) ...

Apart from that I'm currently playing Fable I.
Posted By: Arokh Re: What are people playing? - 02/09/11 07:12 PM
No time to play games for me as I'm working 6 days a week @ 12 hours a day at the moment but I bought Arcania & Red Faction Guerrilla a few weeks back as they were on special offer very cheap. Not looked at Arcania yet but played some of Red Faction. Just bought Darksiders on the PS3 as it was recommended by a friend.
Posted By: AlrikFassbauer Re: What are people playing? - 06/09/11 05:25 PM
Had a rush yesterday and began intalling old Win 3.1 on a "Virtual PC". NExt thing I'll do is install some DOS games there ... I already did so with DOSBOX and ELder Scrolls Arena.

At the moment I'm playing for yet another round "Divinity II" and immediately all other RPG's I've are out of my mind ... !

Don't know if this is the last play from Farglow to the final end .... for sure not, I believe !

Playing a Priest is the most fantastic & satifying playthrough in a RPG I ever had !!!
smile

I'M playing DDO since a few months.

Since it has been a while I'm now playing Rage and The Witcher 2. Finished Arcania - thought it wasn't bad decent enough to make me compelled to finish it. Got bored of Red Faction and uninstalled it after only about a third into the game.

Would have been doing a second playthrough of Mass Effet 3 but I don't want to even look at a Mass Effect game let alone play one after that stupid ending. So right now I'm playing Kingdoms of Amalur Reckonong so far it's a really good game

Mass effect I don't like "guns" ... so I say "No!!" to ME ... down
Kingdoms of Amalur : Reckoning ... I say Yes, I like it ! up

So, after a third start with Skyrim (now L11) with a High Elf going for magic and conjuration ... Amalur starts to scream at me: "take me, play me !" ... I started yesterday this nice looking game and so far it's already more enjoyable than Skyrim ... so Skyrim must, again, wait ....
There's only one thing I can't forget : my Ronja, the Priest in DKS, I can't stop thinking about her unfinished journey ... so one day, maybe sooner than later ... she starts to charm my mind so I can't resist longer her lovely charms ... biggrin
Posted By: Divine Avenger Re: What are people playing? - 21/03/12 11:58 PM
right now I'm playing my music to pi** off my naighbours because they are always pi**ing me off with slamming doors loud music & there TV being retardedly loud. hahaha
Posted By: Joram Re: What are people playing? - 22/03/12 09:30 AM
I'm hooked with KoA: Reckoning . Play a full Sorcerer, but with a bow, but later on I drop the bow. I love to use a Scepter and wish to try later on a Chakram ... wearing only a Robe and other Sorcery-oriented equipment (especially with a % of boosting Mana Regeneration).

A pack of wolves are mostly so far a problem to survive because my armor is not so high and I play on hardest difficulty. But it's fun and the quests are fine. A lovely coloured world, atmosphere it has ... I love to talk with all NPC's .. it's funny to see and hear them talking ... and of course I like trading, alchemy, smithing, sagecraft (enchanting, in fact), harvesting plants, exploring and find all loot in chests ...
Only the lockpick feature I don't like if I compare it with Skyrim: in Skyrim it's way more better to have control over what you do with the locks (in fact : with the xbox controls). In Amalur all my lockpicks are gone because also a very easy lock can give me troubles, not less than a hard lock ! But I'm afraid it's my own fault and I have to learn how to handle the controls properly hahaha
Posted By: AlrikFassbauer Re: What are people playing? - 22/03/12 12:07 PM
I must admit that I have never understood how the lockpick thing works in KOAR (I mean the demo). Can anyone explain it to me ?
Posted By: Joram Re: What are people playing? - 22/03/12 01:26 PM
Do you play on Xbox or PC ? On Xbox you must use your left & right stick to move handle and slider :
the closed lock has a handle (down) which you can pull to left or right direction, but it can be that if you didn't move this handle and only start to move the slider(above the handle) from left to right the lock goes open without breaking the lockpick : a successful lockpicking you've done .

Skyrim has almost the same system, but I prefer the Skyrim system because you've more control over your work while lockpicking (better "fine" finger touche and slow moving the lock). In KoA:R (so far) it doesn't matter how I use the stick of my Xbox controller, the slider goes always even fast so I haven't the time to react if I notice my lockpick is going to break ! smirk

So in KoA:R all my lockpicks are fast out of order :hihi: ! Luckely I can put skill points in Lockpicking to make this easier smile .

If I discover a better way I let you know wink Maybe I do something wrong, but yeah, NO manual in the disc and the ingame manual give no info about "how to pick a lock" wink
Posted By: Divine Avenger Re: What are people playing? - 22/03/12 03:12 PM
I like KOAR lockpicking more than Skyrim because the slider as you call it Jorum grin will always let you know very quickly if a lockpick will be successfull because the slider will move at a different speed depending on how close to the sweet spot you are. Plus you don't actually need to put any skill into lockpick inorder to pick the locks.

Sorry Alrik, I play Amalur on xbox.
But also on the console it's hard to understand that lockpick feature.
Probably I'm to clumsy : I need at least/mostly 2 or more lockpicks each time I try that mini-game . smirk
Posted By: Divine Avenger Re: What are people playing? - 03/04/12 10:33 PM
I don't mind the lockpick system on Amalur but I can understand people getting frustrated with it.

As for me I'm back flying round in Dragon Form on DKS hahaha
