That is if Lucretia manages to connect to the game. It is my first time and I don´t know if I will make it. I will try hard though I promise to all of you. To be there and play with you.

Weekend is the best time for me but what about time? When we sleep in Greece, in USA is morning...

What time is it for you + or - GMT? We can then set up a time so all of us can play at the same time.
When you get into B-Net it is pretty straight forward. You click "join" game,or
"create" game.
If you "join" it will be Larian//riftrunner
If the game does not exist, you can "create" it. Please try to use the same name//password. That way we will all know a game is going on, and join you there.

Right now I am posting my message it is 4:31 o´clock. It is afternoon. So tell me the time and I will be there. I can do it on Friday and Saturday. Alrik can´t on Sunday. Lets set the time and day in here so we can all know when we will join.

Ok the join/create thing seems simple. But how do I get in the B-NET? All the others seems simple. Oh please guys note that I have not played Diablo II yet. I will try to make some practice till the day we will play, so I will be ready. Also I have 56K conection at home. If this is not good for you please inform me. I don´t want to slow you down. I don´t know many things about online games. But I am willing to learn. BUT I don´t want to spoil your fun, so if this is a problem please tell me.

(Lucretia keeps her fingers crossed, to be able to join )

Has anyone played online with a 56K modem? If you have, it would probably be really nice if you could walk Lucretia through on how to do it so that she could try to make the connection before Saturday. I haven't or I would.

LOL - Lucretia you don't have to send me a kiss to play online with you like these greedy young men.

hey, i dont need one either. But the connection for a 56k modem or dsl or whatever is the same. You make a normal intenetconnection and start dia and chose battlenet. Thats all there is to it. It will probably take longer then others, but it should work.

yes, but when I had a 56 K modem, and a slow pc (dont know how good your pc is) I was dragging other people down

So we really have to test it one day

it is said and i have done it that with a slow computer and a 56k connection you can have some "lag ".

lag is that when one person is on a low connection tha whole group gets the game in fragments or a shaking image .

this is tolerateble but i think that with a game like diablo 2 and with such a good group of people worked on it that they surly found a solution about that problem so i would say 56k or broadband dont mind just connect and play the game with us if you dont wel you will miss a lot of fun and we wil mis a great person in the group so even if you slow us down we wil stay with you and help you to get a unforgeteble day .

may i present you witch a lot of good luck connecting and if you have a prob just ask me ok ?

LOL! D'Queene is right! Save the kisses for when ya get Baal's gold! 4:30 pm in Greece is 9:30am here on the east coast USA. Where D'Queene is it would be 6:30 am. You are +2 GMT, Lucrecia (sp?). I am -7 hours from you (-5 GMT),-10 hours for D'Queene (-8 GMT). Looks like another early hack and slash day for the Queene! This is doable though. We have done it befor. I am willing to join with a super slow connection from others. As long as I am playing it doesn't matter.
In your game menue choose B-net Europe. You will then need to create a REALM account/character. After you have found a name for your character,(sometimes not easy)you can then connect to B-Net. On the right you will see a box for Create/join/quit, and a couple others. On the left you will see options for chat.
Since you are ahead of us you will "create" the game.
Game name = Larian
Password = riftrunner
If you do this on Saturday I will join you when I get my coffee!
Others at GMT might already have 1 going(like JVB for example) so, if it says game already exists, just "join". I am sure anyone there will take good care of you!
I hope I have explained this well for you. If I have not, then somebody correct me!(I would have no hard feelings;) )

Greece ? Isn't that in Europe ?

I'm asking because I'm still slightly confused with those time-zones ...

So, it would be 4 in the morning in Europe and that would be 9 in "East Coast USA" ?

Sorry, but I still have problems with that, being very weak in Maths ...

Oh Geeze! I need to look it up! BRB (be right back)
Okay, it is going on 10 pm where you are? Yes? That would make it almost 5pm where I am. I am -5 hours GMT. I am thinking that Lucrecia is +2hours GMT by her post. So, it would be almost 12 midnight where she is. She is the 1 who needs to tell us where she is so we can get a time going. It is best for me to go by Greenwhich meantime, because I am familiar with it. Does this make sense now?

Currently, it's 11 PM here (or 23.00, the notation I normally prefer. )

Plus 7 Minutes ...

Okay, so that means you are +1 GMT. You are 6 hours ahead of me. Lucretia is 7 hours ahead of me. LOL! I think by the time we get this figured out we will know all the timezones throughout the world! Good for us!
On Saturday if Lucretia starts a game at 4pm it will be 3pm for you, and 9am for me. Does that sound right now?

Thank you so much. It means a lot to me that everybody in here does almost everything in order I could join.

Yeap they are greedy. What they don´t know is that it was a pure friendly kiss for all my friends in here who welcome me to join in the on line game and do everything they can to help. So I suppose it is ok for you to have one
If we were in the same country I would send chocolate bars to everyone

Wow !!!

First, you guys are great. All of you! In case you don´t know it I swear to you that I haven´t meet so nice people. Not even in Greek forums.
I thank you all really. For everything.

Now, my pc is not slow. The connection I payed for the net is slow. I have a pentium 4 on 2,3 MGHZ, with 128 MB RAM, 40 Giga hard drive. My modem is pretty fast but If I wanted to make a better connection I had to give about 300 € per year so... I made just a simple phone connection

As for the time I am awful with maths. Really. I got so confused with the time. BUT, I can start a game or join in whatever time you tell me. It does not have to be in the afternoon. I could play late at night. In fact I like stay awake and sometimes (because I don´t have much spare time generaly), on Saturdays in order to get on with a game I stay awake all night till morning. So it will not be a problem for me to join in a time that it will be good for you. You can tell me to be there in 1:00 clock in the morning. It will be fine with me. Just find a time that suits every one of you.

I thank you for the info. I will install diablo II today and get some practice. I will try to get on line in order to be ready to join. And if we see that my connection is slowing you down and it is bad, I can leave.

Boy I am so happy! It was a great idea. Even if I don´t manage to follow, the whole thing is so nice!!

Thank you all guys again

edit for the time : Now it is 10:25 in the morning Greece time. I fixed the clock for the forum, so you will see in every post of mine what time is in Greece so you will not get confused.

Alrik if I have this right - my 0630 is Mslynx's 0930 and your 1530 and Lucretia's 1630. (wiping sweat off forehead from having to think to hard)

Whoever starts the game should open it up to at least 8 people, right? Also widen the character levels to 10 or so - just in case some people join later? Or will that make it to slow?

Also we need to set up an alternate name because if someone creates a game and then quits for any reason Battlenet doesn't "release" the name for some time (maybe 5 minutes?). Just a suggestion.
