Hello everyone.

The German Forum Member Feena has recently discovered a new trick to get a merchant using more money than he originally has in his pocket.

And this is how she wrote it (translated into English) :
(Please note that my translation might not literally be exact, but I tried to keep the sense as good as possible.)

Hello again

Everybody knows it ... you want to sell something (for example armor which costs over 10.000), but the shopkeper doesn't have enough money. So you cannot sell it.

I've testet something ... here it comes :

You must go into the dwarven Halls, to the dwarven Jeweller "Elmer Vignus" and use "stealing" (in my case level 3) with him. You'll receive the message "failed", but afterwards the "Old One" has 1000 Gold more in his trade menu ... performing this several times, one can in the end easily sell this armor or other things.

Try it ! In my case it worked perfectly !

Feena

Barnabus pointed out that this trick might lead to a bad reputation among shopkeepers, thus resulting in worse prices, and Feena replied to it :

Quote
Nö, nö, it doesn't matter ! The only thing you need to do is - after the failure (when he asks whether you are interested in the thing and whether you want to buy it) - clicking on the "X" or closing the dialog window completely. Then nothing else would happen !

Feena finally reported that this "Money Trick" ONLY works with the dwarven Jeweller - with no-one else !
She had tested it with several merchants / shopkeepers and wrote that the smith at the market place called the guards, and the dwarven priest gets hostile.

So, we have another Trick for those wanting more money - indirectly, because with this trick the Jeweller gets more money which can be "used" to sell more expensive things - he won't run out of money.

The only thing wwe need for verification whether this Trick is possible with the English version of or not ...

Reporting END

Alrik OUT.

This also works in the English version of the game (level 5 Pickpocket will fail).
