u're right, he deserves to be cheered even on cute looks alone.
another diver, who is female, also 14 years old but she looks so much larger than him! i guess his hormones has yet 2 kick in.
too bad his placing is just one step away from the finals. being the youngest, smallest, shortest, lightest, cutest .... .
post-mortem: i feel this year's olympic is the best as medals are more distributed among participating countries. this time US won only about half the amount of medals they won previously. China holds up very well. Russia drops down the list & other countries (can't remember any right now) provide competitions more fierce than before. it's refreshing. no longer do big countries have a strong hold on the medals. it's reducing & i hope the next olympic event will carry the same trend which means balance is coming about in world class sports.
Luc, u have every reason to be proud of this Olympic event.
