Larian Studios Forums Divinity 2 - Ego Draconis (English) Help/Tips/Tricks Treasure Hunter Chronicles: Ultimate locked chests

During the gameplay I've found a four chests that is not possible to open:

1. Maxos Temple, Eternal Maze: <click>
2. Barnabus lair: <click>
3. Kaera Fortress, frozen chest: <click>
4. Kaera Fortress, chest 2: <click> (<dragon view>)

If someone has any idea how to open these - do tell :P

Also, regarding to maxos temple chest: I have found a weird key but it seems this key not for that chest. Actually, I've found it after finishing the game, but I clearly remember that only this chest I wasn't able to open in Maxos Temple, so, I have no idea what opens this key >_>

P.S. Also, as addition, I guess there is worth to mention a two empty chests: one in Kali's Fortress location and one in Aleroth. Funny enough but they requires a high lockpick skill...

Ok, some info about Barnabus chest. From game script:


Looks like we have two keys in the Cave, but I've found only 1 0_o

With RAM hack (infinite HP) checked lava near to device in that cave, no luck. Key is definitely not there OR may be due to some mistake location designer put it somewhere out of reach ;(

Another update (now tis thread looks like a personal blog >_>): basikado did some workaround and found a chest for that key in Maxos Temple: this key for the nearest chest, on the same ladder. Since it's can be opened via lockpick skill (even if it's requires a key) - that's why I didn't found the chest for that key :P

So, chest for key have been found, and, since there is no keys left - this chest can't be opened too ;<

I found the key to the barnabus' chest just in front of a teleporter, in a fire cage. Maybe it can help you?
The teleporter is the lowest one in the cave. Once you've been teleported, walk until you find a wall with a fire cage. The key is on the right.

I also need some help : did you find the book of the dead ? can't get my hands on it !

Here is it the key but the book is not inside of this chest i can´t find it

We are not talking about the book here, but about some chests in the game.
Btw, have you tried to open that chest with this key?

by the looks of this topic you guys opened all chests right?

so in your opinion is lock pick worth it? or how much skill points perhaps? so far skill4 (use a neck piece for +1) total 5 when needed, I fail to see the good in lock pick and feel that its a wasted skill for the junk that is in these chests. (I still have not gotten the tower yet must kill them 3 mobs that the patchwork biiiiiiiatch spawns)

Lockpick required to open like 80% of locked chests, other 20% can be opened with a keys.

Anyway, confirmed that this chest can be opened with this key.

So, we have 3 chests left.

Second key for chest you will get from that girl.

He throw it out of the window.. literally.

I like that thing in this game, that it needs some IQ to play.

Btw. I opened pretty much all chest in game, except that one in Eternal maze..

And, I finished game with like 12 keys left.. wierd, huh?

Btw. any way to open Lovis armor chest, except solving his quest? I simply hate him too much..

It's can't be opened, there is just no keys left in the location (I've checked the script).

I hate the system of spawning some objects(specially keys) in the game only after mind-reading. If U fail to mind-read or make the wrong choice those objects r lost forever.

@Mescalamba So, have u found the keys for the other two chests(kaera's fortress) mentioned on the first post?
