Hey guys,

I recently started playing Divinity 2 Ego Draconis and have run into a situation:

I was clearing a cave (the one where you find the East, West and South talismans) and i got out of the cave in the Goblin Hamlet exit. I killed the goblins there and used the waypoint to teleport to the village. While I was at the village I pressed the quickload key by mistake and got ported to my last save inside the cave, so far so good...
MY problem is that ever since I accidentaly pressed the quickload key, the ladders that allowed me to exit the cave are not there anymore...so I'm stuck inside the cave with no possible exit!

Does anyone know a solution to this besides reloading my 2 hours old autosave?

Did you quicksave again? If not, try exiting the game completely, start it again and load your quicksave. That may avoid the missing ladders (this probably will not help in any saves made after the problem occurred).

Periodic new saves are always a good idea.

If you email Larian about this they should be able to edit your save to put your character outside the tunnels (assuming you've done everything there and gotten the fourth amulet), but it would probably be faster to redo the 2 hours from the last auto save.


BTW this problem with missing ladders / sealed doors quicksaving indoors is a known issue, and I would think should be fixed in the next patch, whenever that is released.

I quicksaved again after the problem, because initially I wasn't aware of it...I quicksave a lot but I always use the same slot...my bad. Stillthis setback kinda spoiled my mood with this game...What a stupid bug on a €50 game =//


Offtopic: Is there a fourth Amulet in that cave system? I ran it back and forth twice now and can't find more than three =P care to give me any hints?

There is a book in there (don't recall where) describing what to do with the amulets, at least in general. If you use the 3 amulets in the proper place and order, you get the amulet of the north, with Wisdom +2, 3 enchantment slots IIRC, and other random bonuses. Specifically;

If I uninstall the game and reinstall it and then use my save games will it fix this issue or are my saves directly causing it ?

I'm pretty sure it gets written into the save file itself if you save after a ladder/door disappearance. It wouldn't hurt to try reinstalling, but it probably won't help either.

Man lol...I'm gonna have to load the last autosave )= what saddens me the most is that have had some luck with gear dropping from mobs and now i'm gonna lose them all...
