Were you one of the lucky few who completed Dragon-Escort scenario (at the end?)

I'm happy to see you've finally chosen to take Raze's advise & post a new thread to ask for help with the ending. I hope you get the response you'd like, I don't want to see people getting banned from the forum but I also don't like seeing arguments on the forum..... or being part of them lol. Just settle down listen to what people heve to say don't spam & help will come when you need it.

I have the PC game but the game does not seem to give you an option to save after the air battle. There is one more ground fight afterwards then it's the game end cutscene. Latest save I have is during the air assault round about halfway through. PM me if you need it.

Note there are two slightly different endings to the game depending on who you sided with. I sided with Zanadalor in my game.

You should be able to save after the conversation with Ygerna (and Behrlihn, if you picked him rather than Bellegar). A save at the end of the dragon escort would be better, to still get the cutscene and conversation afterwards.

Technically there is a difference between not doing one section and not finishing the game, but if you're going to skip the escort (given the relative simplicity of the final fight), the only thing you'd really miss watching a YouTube video of the ending would be getting an achievement. Here is a video of just the escort mission.

But if he's playing the PC version there would be no Achievement

It's best to complete the game yourself with your own character, yes, as each character is unique to the player's style, what equipment you picked up, stats etc. I'd do what Raze suggested if you can't do it and want to see what happens at the end. However if you do want a save you can have it by all means but it will obviously be my character. There are a few posts on this forum about the difficult ending with some tips on how to make it easier if you want to keep trying.

I've already made over one hundred tries and it is foolish to "beat a dead horse"

The scenario does not improve after many,many attempts so I must wait until someone can play the saved game I sent herewith and send it back to me

Ill try to take a look at it over the next day or two and see if I can complete it with your character unless someone else tries in the meantime. Cnances are though if you can't complete the ending maybe I can't either & it may be because your character build isn't strong enough. Also as in my first post, I couldn't save at the end of the air battle but ll try again. Will let you know.

My feeling is that you may have a great deal more personal insight into this chapter than I have.

I feel confident that someone (with more advanced scrutiny) will see what I will describe as an "error marker"


If I view a You Tube video of the sequence I find it fascinating.

The Dragon appears to float from Nest to Ballista Tower simply rejeuvenating and recovering health instantly.

It is truly astonishing as my Dragon is the complete diametrical antithesis..Potions are ineffective no matter what the potency.

Spells are useless because between the time the spell is cast (recharge time) the few seconds of "recharge" is all that is needed to kill Dragon

So in essence the Dragon's Protections (spells and potions) are useless because they are not strong enough to withstand the few seconds worth of attack that is rendered during what I call "rest or rejeuvination"

you also have to take into account what armour your dragon is using some dargon armour focus' on attack while others on Defence. It's best to use either the Crystal Dragon Armour or the Plate Mail Armour for the escort mission as they both focus on defence rather than offence.

You should never stay still especialy when regenerating, as I said in the last post summoning your wyvern ally helps to draw away some fire.

There is something fundamentally wrong with this Dragon that make it die prematurely

Then like Joram said theres proberbly a problem with your character build, seem to me that you should start from the beguining & try a different build for your character.

I mean your waiting till someone does the escort mission anyway so why not try starting again & building your character differentley.

You should try again & ask people on the forum for advise on the different builds, depending on how you choose to play.

it will also help in regards to developing your Dragon Form, you can search more areas & maybe find Dragon Skill books you might have missed.

Any abnormally high damage taken or slow regeneration may be a bug or glitch with the save/game, but you do not have enough options as a dragon to be able to create a poor build, even if you wanted to.
In D2:ED you can choose which skills to boost with points and armour, but in FoV you start will all skills maxed, so the only choice you have is between armour that does either +40% HP or Mana, and either +40% Offense or Defense.

The only thing you could do differently for the dragon is to run around Aleroth going through the caves (etc) with respawning opponents, in order to level. I got to level 47 during the dragon escort, and I suspect getting more than a couple levels higher than that would take awhile in Aleroth, and wouldn't necessarily make a huge difference.

No I know but if it is a bug in the game then starting again means that he'll have more of a chance to finish the game himself because theres a chance that it won't effect a new playthrough.

Unfortunately I haven't the Pc version of DKS, otherwise I wish to look at aida's build.

Aida, have you ever tried to take the Dragon skill Polymorph? It's a great strong skill against flying enemies! Most of the time you can evade the attacks to Ballista's and other kind of towers, but flying enemies are most of the time very DANGEROUS because they fly to you and many times more than one! I never maked it in dragon form at the start of the Hall of Echoes without Polymorph, even on a lower difficulty!!
But with Polymorph I did it on nightmare and it wasn't easy, but for sure surviveble.
Dragon Spirit I take al 5 points in and thhis skill I start always with when I invest in a Dragon Skill (after I defeat Laiken in Battle Tower).
After that try to destroy

After you Polymorph most of the flying enemies you can try to kill some of the "Ladybirds" or better try to destroy all the Nests first and after that the Lightnning and/or Wizard Towers.

But to be honest, I don't know how many Towers and Nests the Escort Mission has, so sorry if I'm totally wrong about Nests etc ... Are their (many) Nests in the Escort Mission ?

theres an easy 10 - 15 nests in that mission Joram

Done, complated air battle for you. Savegame below is at start of ground fight with your character. Your build is fine and level 45 is OK to complete the game easilly enough. Trick was to take out biggest group of enemies and lightning towers with the nuke.
