I recently decided to replay DKS using my digitally installed copy from Gamersgate (patched to 1.4.9.70). I've not had any problems until I started to clear a few of the flying fortresses in Orobas Fjords. None of the two Fortresses that I've visited (Raze and Keara) have any generators of any kind. I can just fly straight to the teleporter and kill the boss. There's also no cut scene when I first enter the fortresses and I thought I recalled last time I played that there was a quick cutscene of the generators (but I could be wrong as it's been some time). Any ideas what has caused this happen and how I can fix it?

In the original release of D2:ED there were generators and anti-dragon zones in the flying fortresses, with a cutscene showing an overview when you entered. In DKS all but one the the generators and anti-dragon shields were removed (in Stone's fortress, where you encounter Xanlosch), and the fortresses themselves redesigned a bit.

The flying fortresses increase in difficulty as you proceed into the fjords, so from easiest to hardest: Stone, Raze, Broken Valley, Keara and then Kali. If you do the harder ones first you might not be getting much experience when you do the easy ones (then again you would get extra experience doing the hard ones at a lower level).

What a relief! It never even occurred to me that they made changes and you're right, my last play through was just the original game, this time I'm doing DKS. Thank for your the warm welcome and the prompt response.
