Some serious spoilers ahead, obviously.

And with the ending, I mean the scene before starting with FoV; the infamous moment you realize your mistake with "Talana" and meet Lucian.

I know this may sound a bit stupid, or unimportant, but in my two playthrougs, the same doubt comes to my mind. What the hell is that place? Both Lucian and the DragonKnight are completely sealed off, and uncapable of doing anything.

At first I assumed it was the hall of echoes, but I don't think that makes any sense at all (since, well, I doubt Ygerna or Damian have any power within that place). My curiosity grows even more when Berhrlihn talks about it, saying something about a place of "possibilities". Maybe this is one of these things better understood with Beyond divinity (a game that, unfortunatelly, I was unable to play after the first episode).

Also, one last thing; when I went into Ygerna's memory to confront the Divine, the moment I heard Ygerna's voice I started to suspect about "Talana". When it was clear that the fight was inevitable, I couldn't stop thinking that all events where triggered to make a DragonKnight assassinate the Divine -so, I assumed that, in fact, our main character was the "famed" DragonKnight that killed the Divine. It was sad to discover that my little hypothesis crumbled the next second, with the ending sequence. (And, honestly, does not make any sense with a little analysis). I'm the only one who thought that?

Thank you guys, and sorry for my bad english! ^_^

The Plane of Hypnerotomachia is a different dimension, or universe, or something. If Damian or Ygerna don't have some kind of power or control there, they they have the services of someone or are in possession of something that does. This plane is not mentioned in Beyond Divinity, though that game does contain a bit of info on other realms reachable by rifts.

In Ygerna's memory you are fighting her memory of Zandalor and the Divine.

Just after posting this topic, I started FoV; the I saw the Hypnerotomachia sword that I bought from Deodatus in the main game. Its description and Berhrlihn comment about the dimension (I'm afraid the translation is not very fortunate) gave me the clues to your explanation ^_^ Thanks anyway. I'm not sure why, but I was sure that this had something to do with Beyond Divinity.

Yeah, I know; but before the ending, just the moment you enter the memory and talk to the poeple there... well, I liked the idea of a greater machiavellian plot by Ygerna and Damian hahaha

That's a very interesting question, thank you for asking that.

At first I thought that was the Hall of Echoes. It didn't really occur to me until recently that only the Dragon Knight had the protective gear needed to survive the actual Hall of Echoes.

That moment when you enter Ygerna's memory and her her speak was fantastic. I went "Oh, fornication!", except that wasn't the word I used. I realized then that it was Ygerna who'd been talking to us all game long, but it was too late to turn back.

No you are not the only one; I didn't really get the ending either. I wondered what / where the prison you and the divine are trapped in was as well. The memory battle did not seem to make sense either I wondered if you were the dragon knight that killed the divine too. I just shrugged it off thinking that the whole point of the game plot was for Ygerna to trick you into becoming imprisoned which I was really P****ed off about. The whole memory battle thing just seemed pointless as far as the story went.

Yeah, I agree. That last conversation and Ygerna's intervention is great ^_^

Well, despite my intial confusion, I really liked the turn of events. The game makes you believe that you are doing something important, something that will disrupt the black ring once and for all. Maybe it's a bit depressing (especially if you don't play FoV), but it truly archieves its purpose; maybe I would have appreciated more information about Hypnerotomachia, but I really enjoyed the surprise.

But, I don't know, maybe my case is different since I played DKS first and I was able to take revenge almost inmediatly laugh

Well, that would explain all the confusion and mystery about that dimension in which the Divine and the DragonKnight are imprisoned; a little but nice allusion to a classic mystery ^_^

****

By the way, since I have just started FoV -I would have enjoyed a dialogue option to say Berhrlihn that I don't accept his terms. A dialogue option, of course, that would had lead to a unexpected first-game over, with the camera going away while Lucian keeps talking about his adventures hahaha

I wanted it to be some special, mysterious dimension; not just the ‘astral plane’ as we were calling it internally. Like the spirit Behrlihn says in the beginning of Flames of Vengeance: ‘Ah, how good it is to be here in this empire of dream, desire and fruition where one is truly omnipotent.’

Hmm... but there are other women in the game that use the same voice actress as Ygerna/Talana, for example Antumbra.

Well, but none of those women are as plot-relevant as Ygerna; and even more, subtle meta-gaming perception does not ring any "alarm" -I'm thinking of Antumbra; a character from a Side-quest that has a very clear purpose and reference (Penumbra)-.

What I'm trying to say is that the importance of the moment -the memory battle- makes the same voice extremely suspicious.

Antumbra the assassin? Speaking of, Is till think Assassin's Guild needs more spotlight i Divinity games, with Larian's unique take on them.

The ending of Ego Draconis was okay with me. I had no gripes with it since I played through it within DKS and didn't experience the cliffhanger some gamers did.

But one thing bothered me, I just can't shake the feeling that the "Ygerna plot twist" was injected later in the development of the game. Of course, this is subject to correction from people who really know.

I didn't play the end, as the keys to use the dragon are bugged.
So I'm somewhat sad.
I hope there will be another patch, to fix this (and to I play again and finish the game), as Larian should gather some more money with the Anthology.

I've come to conclude that the place where our Hero and Lucian were caged was Hell itself in the Divinity universe. Afterall, there's got to be a place where your summoned demons come from.

Lucian and the dragon knight were imprisoned in the Plane of Hypnerotomachia. There is a hell in the Divinity universe, where the Lord of Chaos was banished (along with the demons he created).

This topic is badly named, as this is not about the end of TDS.
I was talking about the end of the saga, which I couldn't play for the game brings the mess in our keys to control the skills of the dragon.
Please patch it with the succesfull money from GOG (I didn't bought it for I already have the games, and this broken ending. If saga ending were not broken I would not be shy giving you much money for the bonuses of DevCuts).

What is the problem with the controls for the dragon?

I played the Xbox version of the game. At the start of the zeppelin escort a couple dragon skills are upgraded or added, and the hotkeys changed, but I could pause the game and re-assign the hokeys pretty much the way I had them in the D2:ED section of the game.

Larian is working on a patch for DKS to add the Developer Mode (which is the only difference in D2:DC).

If changing the hotkeys is the issue, then from a couple different topics:

Which of these options are you using and can you try the others?

I think they did that so that you couldn't accidentally move something out of the bar. They must never have heard of "Locking" the action bar.

I play the PC version. Yes I had read the hotkeys can be changed, but not all IIRC (I tried), and so I can't play the endgame the way I learnt with my hotkeys set. That was boring as I always missed the good important hotkey in this hurry endgame, I don't want to pause each second to think about what's the good hotkey.
We have to look the screen for the firing towers, no time to look the bottom for searching hotkeys.

You can pause the game at any time to look down, and from the pause menu you can even rearrange the skill bar to your liking. I did that myself for the final mission.

FireBreath can not be re-mapped, but anything that could be changed in D2:ED should be able to be changed in FoV.
