Hello. I was playing my old Ego Draconis game lately, when my friend said that he have DKS I can buy. So i did it. Upgraded with latest patch. At 1920x1080 it looks like 4:3 ratio stretched on my screen, though the graphics looks correct. The screen isn't cut on edges, menu buttons are stretched to the left side. My graphics card is EAH 5770 CuCore 1GB5, old Ego Draconis game still looks properly...

@Edit: Resolution in the .xml file is correct.
@Edit2: To sum up: objects, hud, menu, everything is in 4:3 ratio, but the graphics itself is 16:9. I have all the drivers up to date, tried everything in my ATI CCC like changing stretching options but it still looks the same. I can't find any post nor message with similar problem.
@Edit3: Funfact: When i choose center the image instead of streching it in CCC at 4:3 resolutions everything itself looks still overstretched
@Edit4: I forgot to mention I'm using DRM-Free exe from Larian since i could not activate SECU-Rom code.

Did you try other 1.78 aspect ratio resolutions, like 1600x900?

Does selecting/unselecting the game option 'user interface in desktop resolution' make a difference?


If you try playing the game in a window, does that effect this problem?
Open the the graphicoptions.xml file in Notepad (or other text editor) and in the line Fullscreen="1" change the 1 to a 0 and save, then restart the game.

In Vista / Win 7 this file is in the folder

C:\Users\ %username% \AppData\Local\Divinity 2\Profile

or in XP

C:\Documents and Settings\ %username% \Local Settings\Application Data\Divinity 2\Profile


You may need to set Windows Explorer to show hidden files and folders (XP, Vista, Win 7).

I'm using XP and I'm kinda computer technician... The problem still occurs when i change the fullscreen option.
It's like it doesnt recognise 16:9 ratio aspect... I have M237WDP display btw.
@Edit: I tried all the resolutions.
@Edit2: I am able to play this game normally, but only if i change my external display options, not the ones managed by software, or my pc by changing it's ratio to 4:3. But it's really annoying having black fields on both sides of screen.

The problem have never occured with any other software/games.

There is no "user interface in desktop resolution" option anywhere.

I have the Xbox version of DKS, so am not sure exactly where the 'user interface in desktop resolution' is listed in the advanced graphics options. Did you scroll down?

[SOLVED] Interface Resolution and Game Resolution

I was searching for similar topic over and over. Yeah, I've tested all the options that were there too. I've found on several forums that there is no such option since .70 update. None of the topics solve the situation.

I don't receive any errors, nor black screens. Everything is fine, only the ratio is messed up. The game looks perfectly only in 1280x1024 in windowed mode.

Maybe that option was renamed? The DKS [PC] Support FAQ topic mentions a "don't use desktop resolution" option.

Nah there is no such option. I'm not blind or stupid Ok, I'll send em an email. I've read the whole faq topic before posting here. Thanks for your attention anyway.
