I bought the Divinity II pack on the recent Steam summer sale and just started playing it. I'm a few hours in, have done most of the first area things, and just encountered Talara, the wounded Dragon Knight.

However, when I talk to her, the game freezes. Specifically, we go through the dialogue, and she says "Let me show you the evil etc." Then it pops up a loading screen and freezes there. No matter how long I let it wait, it does not progress, and I have to kill it via the task manager, where it is listed as Not Responding.

I'm happy to provide any additional information. I've been having a good time so far and would like to continue.

Try skipping through the conversation, and end it before it finishes on its own. That can help with a couple different cutscene videos played after conversations.

If you have Windows XP the saves are in the folder:
C:\Documents and Settings\ %username% \Local Settings\Application Data\Divinity 2\Savegames

If you have Windows Vista or Windows 7 the saves are in the folder:
C:\Users\ %username% \AppData\Local\Divinity 2\Savegames

Where %username% is your current login name.

If the AppData folder doesn’t appear it’s because it’s hidden.

Thanks for the help. I skipped through the conversation and, as suggested in the linked thread, just kept trying, and eventually it loaded into the next scene without locking up. Everything seems to be in working order now.

Dragon mode is pretty awesome!
