I'm having problems with my NTSC Xbox 360 version of The Dragon Knight Saga.

So I've run into quite a few problems. First, I bought a new copy that wouldn't even load and froze my xbox at startup. I returned it for another new copy and am still having a lot of trouble.

First, the game only makes it to the title screen about 30% of the time, otherwise it simply freezes at a black screen. From then, the game freezes when I try to load my game about 80% of the time. I've only made it into the actual game twice, and it has frozen one of those times.

I tested other games, so I know it is not my xbox. I can't really go into more detail, as the game just seems to be a frozen mess.

I really want to play this game, so I was wondering of anyone had similar problems or potential fixes?

Are you trying to play the game off the DVD, or (if available) installed on the hard drive?

I had a couple lockups with the Xbox version, but only after it had been on all day (possibly a heat issue), and fortunately within a few seconds to couple minutes of saving. Other than a specific cutscene hanging if you took a long time to reach that part of the game (in the European release, fixed in an update), there have been a couple people with similar problems (DRAGON KNIGT SAGA XBOX 360 NTSC CRASHES), though none quite this severe).

I'm playing on a 4GB slim, so I can't install it.

I looked at the other post and their problem seems nowhere near as severe. I know it may be unlikely since it's I've tried multiple copies, but I wonder if something is wrong with the actual disc?

If it isn't the Xbox, then that pretty much leaves the disk itself. It is possible the place you bought it got multiple copies from a bad batch of disks, or a delivery truck broke down somewhere hot and everything in the back baked for awhile, or something.

If they have a display Xbox set up, they may/should be willing to test that disk and/or another replacement.
