Hi !
I don't know if I am the only one, but my game is very laggy. For exemple, I need 5 minutes to load a game, and 10 minutes to create a new game. When I'm playing I still have big lags, wich make the game extremely hard to play (most of the time I have to click multiple times for the game to recognize I did something).

My PC is an ASUS with Intel Pentium 8960 2.2 Ghz, Windows 7 x64 Family Edition, NVidia GeForce 610M - 1Gb.

That's not lag, that's HDD/system hitching.

I would hazard a guess that your system is underpowered. Especially since you are playing on a Laptop. Is your CPU even dual-core or is it a single-core?

The loading times are likely because you are using a slow laptop HDD and they typically don't even run at 7200RPM.

Try turning down your graphics options to the bare minimum settings and see how much your performance improves. Then from there slowly tweak one setting up at a time until you get something you think looks good enough while still performing decent enough.

Hi Zach,

My settings are at minimum and I still have big lags. I just recently formated my computer, and for exemple I am able to perfectly launch recent games at medium performance. And my CPU is dual core, I bought this PC one year and a half ago.

The game (as is typical for anything alpha) is not at all optimized for performance. This (optimization) is something that happens very late in development. So it might indeed be that the system is a bit underpowered for the current state of the game. This will undoubtedly improve (a lot) as development progresses.

That being said, how much main memory does your system have, and how much free disk space? I tried running the game on my laptop, which has an SSD, 8GiB of ram, and some lower end intel i5 cpu and just the intel onboard graphics. On that system, the game was somewhat playable at the lowest setting at 1366*768. Going to 1600x900 makes it still work, but at say 7 fps tops - functional, but not really enjoyable. hehe Loading times were okay, although still rather slow, which does surprise me a little bit, as the game is installed on the SSD.

Hi Robrecht,

Yeah, for the optimisation, that's what I assumed, but I wanted to ask to be sure I was not mistaken.

I have 4Go ram, and 625 Go free. I just tried switching to 1200*800, and it seems playable for now (still a bit laggy though). Thanks for the tip !

I'm glad my words have been useful. hehe

I'm running the game on my desktop at about 40fps (according to fraps) with all settings maxed at 1280x1024. This machine has 4GiB of ram as well, an AMD HD6850 GPU, and a 3GHz core 2 duo.
