Hi,

I'm running the Divinity Original Sin 1.0.67.0 on OSX Mavericks.

Everytime I go into the black cove just after the static cloud I get a number of very dark black shadows across the screen which almost render the game unplayable, it is very impossible to see chests, important plot items, enemies etc.

Here is a screenshot:

Is anyone else having this issue or know of a solution? I've tried leaving the area and coming back, also tried restarting the game. No luck.

Help would be appreciated,

Thanks,

BobbyRob

I have had other shadow issues - mostly with previous versions.

I can only recommend that you turn off shadows (in video options) while in this area. That should solve it until it is properly patched by the devs.

Thanks Jacob. Good suggestion. I've actually tried that with no effect. I'll give it another go to but I'm not hopeful.

Thanks.

Update: Tried with shadows turned off, no change.

Noticed something weird about the map though: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/14536869/Screen%20Shot%202014-07-14%20at%208.29.17%20am.png

Perhaps this is not an issue with shadows and more an issue with exploration/fog of war.

Anyone else having an issue like this?

Yup. Having the same issue. Found this post searching for issue on Google.

Mac OS 10.9.4
Running latest patch for game(1.0.78)

Didn't notice the correlation with the map until I read this post!

Also, Pontius Pirate's ship is completely blacked out(even after exploring the area with an invisible character). Couldn't get a helpful screenshot of that because it's..well...all black smile

The bridge is a good example.

And here's the map.

Sorry the shadow trick didn't work.

ok. This looks very weird. It seems Mac specific though...

We fixed that issue in latest builds. It's classified as driver bug. For now its Intel Iris and Intel HD4000 only. I can give you instructions how to enable it for any other video card, given that you tell me your video card.

It's a shroud texture corruption issue.

To save you from waiting here are the instructions. Just keep me posted on your results, please..

1) Find your steam/gog Divinity Original Sin installation folder
2) Navigate to Resources inside the game bundle
3) There you should see VideoCardBugList.plist file
4) Edit the file using any plist editor (it's a text file)

Your section is this one:

<key>ShroudStripesBug</key>
<dict>
<key>Intel</key>
<dict>
<key>Iris</key>
<true/>
<key>4000</key>
<true/>
</dict>
<key>Default</key>
<false/>
</dict>

First try changing Default to <true/>, launch the game it should be completely fixed now.

Now figure out your video card and report it in post.

Good luck!

I've got an intel HD 5000 and I've still got this stripes issue. Any advice on how to fix it would be welcome. I'm eager to keep playing

You should do what is written above adding manually "5000" in ShroudStripesBug. I am definite it will help you. We will add it next patch.

This worked for me! I was a bit confused at first about how to find the buglist file, so maybe this will help(my brain still operates on Windows sometimes)

Find Divinity - Original Sin.app

RIGHT CLICK on the app and select Show Package Contents

Navigate to Contents/Resources/VideoCardBugList.plist

Open with Text Editor

Make changes per above post.

Cheers!
