Draughn the Warrior.

I based him on my Diablo II characters: Draughn-Horgan a Barbarian and Draughn-Khan a Druid, brothers separated by clan wars.

i had a female mage named faile...
and now i have a warrioress named aviendha.
where do i get my ideas?

when i played diablo i had two females (forget what they were, i think one was an assasain and one was probably a rogue or something) their names were sokura and serrano, two characters from a comic book i was going to make but never got around to it. both my own invention, although i have seen sokura used in other places. (after i 'made it up')

been Jurak since '85
long story...
but any character that allowed me to name it always ended up with that
why do i always want to put the second "h" in charachter?
see........
oh yeah....i once used Athlon cuz that's what it said
on my computer's mouse pad and i didn't want to use jurak
so i looked around my room for an idea and lo and behold......
Athlon was invented for a short stint of murder and pillage,
but i like jurak better,
so Athlon took a long hike off a short pier
and has never been seen till this day!

RIP Athlon! ya weakling-loser!
all he ever did was die anyway

oh...i tried "name" once.....till i knew what the heck i was doing

one last one....i think..
i tried "dork once but......it was too dorky!

one more thing......it's true
u snooze u lose
(remembers back to a few days ago when he thought it would be to have a page just like this one, but i would have called it "What's in a name?")
kind of like a name history how'd you get your name and why.

good idea lewis

Jurak the ever changing character that snoozed and losed!

I picked "Neithan" for my male warrior. (A cookie for the person who recognizes this name.)

My female mage was named Nemistria. No meaning, no source, except that it has roots in Forgotten Realms female elven names.

If I play a survivor and it's female, I'm going to name her Thuringwethil. (Again, a cookie for the person who recognizes this one.)

Túrin Turambar, Son of Húrin, Lord of Dor-lómin, and Morwen, and brother of Lalaith and Nienor.
When he fled Doriath after he named himself outlaw he named himself Naithan 'The Wronged' while he dwelt among the Gaurwaith.

This probably will not come as a shock, but I usually use 'Raze', and have since my brother bought a Nintendo game console quite some time ago. Some of the RPGs let you put in your own names.... up to 5 whole characters.

I have used Wraith and the less imaginative Shadow for thief / assassin characters, and Crom for barbarians.

raze (verb)
To subvert from the foundation; to level to the ground; destroy; demolish; overthrow; ruin

Celerity for my caster. I just like the way the word sounds, and thought it made sense for a high dexterity caster.

But in other games I have appeared as
Sorrowful (enchanter)
Branwyn (cleric)
Sonnett (bard)
Babbette (Druid)
Dark Rapture (Paladin)

so many, I can't remember. Why did I mention the ones from other games? Because, I think names are COOL. Naming charaters and creating them tends to be my favorite part of most RPG's. (Okay, you can laugh at me now...) I loved this thread...and really enjoyed reading about other people names.

When I was a small infant, back in the day of plain Nintendo, and crappy pc's. The first kind of RPG I played was Zelda, I remeber my cousin used his name and age.
PAULGUARD13. After he relised everyon said, "Hi PAULGAURD14" he quickly changed it.

I am saying and giving my vote to Anthea, as she has the most beautiful, and the most difficult to read name.
Is it elvish ?

huh sorry Turin is definitely dwarven, not elvish

My first warrior in this game was phoenen(Unimaginative, I know, DOH) and my female warrior was Leelu(Fifth Element). If I made a mage, it would be named Khoas for Male.

later phoenen

*claps* Very good! *gives a cookie* Turin Turambar's my favourite Tolkien character, and he has quite a lot of names. *hugs Narn i Hin Hurin*

Do you recognize Thuringwethil?

I'm not Anthea, but which "Elvish" do you want? Because I can assure you that it is no Tolkien Elvish, Sindarin or Quenya or otherwise.

*raises an eyebrow* Want to debate Tolkien lore with me?

Turin Turambar was a human, and his names are not related to Dwarvish at all. Considering that Túrin is his first and foremost name - as in, his parents named him so, as opposed to the other names which he attached to himself - it was probably Quenya. Túrin means "he who desires mastery"; Turambar translates to "master of fate". Neithan, Mormegil, Adanedhel, Agarwaen, Gorhol are his other names, and half of them have roots in Elvish.

I think you're confusing it with Thorin.
