I liked it, but the combat was a little tough and could take forever!

I agree with Mandrake... Eh, about the combat being long and kinda dull sort of, not the peeing part - although funny.

Even more so than in Morrowind I got the idea that I had no clue what the heck I was doing. Then I started looking for guides (www.gamefaqs.com is always nice) and well, then it became easier, even though half the time you're still forced to enter regions full of monsters that have no trouble kicking your rear end .

Kinda like going to the Dark Forest and try to kill every monster there right after leaving Aleroth in , except, harder.

EDIT: Didn't know certain words can't be said in here, the part in italics isn't allowed in here

Though makes me wonder when I try to type a synonym for "hired killer", e.g. "assassin"?

Yeah, the Battles could take forever. I've experiences this, too.

But I like it : It's turn-based.

Thanks.

Currently I'm kind of stuck : I'm assigned to kill a Rapax Assassin in Marten's Bluff, but cannot find a way in.

I guess I must take the mine tunnels, they are located somewhere ...

My party is currently around level 13-14 and consists of one samurai, two (twi ? ) valkyries (including Vi), one gadgeteer (Madras), one rogue, one bard, one fighter and one bishop.

I have allied to both major groups (don't wanna post spoilers here) and am doing well.

The only thing I *really* miss are *white* unicorns.

Alrik.

Alrik - All I remember is that getting into Maarten's Bluff ain't easy. Though I think I know who you mean by Rapax assassin. I had to kill this Rapax assassin, but first I need an item to lure him (well, not gonna specify in case you don't want to be spoiled). The people who gave me the quest are right at Maarten's Bluff though. There was this elevator to a lower region and one of the quests they gave me there was to kill the Rapax assassin outside. One you had the item, all you had to do was set up the (obvious) trap, use the item on it to lure him and then kill him...

And that was one of the short fights Unlike being attacked by 20+ creatures at once (albeit in small corridors sometimes), but they still want to move all 20 (which takes ages). Turn based makes this game fun, but sometimes I did wish for a real time mode so I could kill them faster.

Yes, I have this item, and I tried to place it in the "Entrance" (you know, that where the elevator goes down to the T'Rang). But there I got the message "on second thought you decide you could use it later". That's why I'm confused.

Go to the sides of the room you're in, there's several options there. One of them closes the doors, the other one presses the walls together and yet another one releases a dummy. Use the perfume on the dummy, then leave the doors open and wait (I had to wait at least a minute or so).

Yes, thanks, that goes partly into the direction I had already figured out - but how do I actually access these "options" ? The only thing I experience is a) the elevator, b) the door.

And I was quite astonished that there was a shop in the swamp ...

And that he had such an item ...

You can't open the other door? I forgot how to get there exactly, sorry Though the ultimat goal is to get trough the second door, so that you're sort of in the courtyard of the castle. Then, at the left and right of the trap/elevator, there's two rooms (due to glass walls, so you should be able to see them while you're inside the trap room). The controls are in both those rooms. Of course, you may have to find a way to get through the second door first so you can reach the controls and I forgot how to do that. (if it's closed at all that is)

Yes, you've found exactly the point. . I thought of using the catapult, but anytime I try to step onto it, it doesn't really work ...

Myles once said he used the mine tunnels ...

By the way, I'm quite angry about the arrogance of the T'Rang ... they want me to do that, but don't tell me how to get there.

Does anyone in Belgium sells his Wizardry 8? I'm looking for it... I played the "illegal" version but it was so great I want the original. Can't find it anymore in any store If you want to sell it, PM me. thanks!

Thanks for the walktrough URL guys - needed that one
I was struck around level 13-14, when I got behind the swamp. I encountered a cave with some high level monsters in it. They casted a VERY powerfull spell and everyone in my party died at ONCE! I tried looking for cheats to pass that part, but couldn't find anything... Are there any trainers for the game? I used to have one but that one doesn't work anymore because I usually play with the patched version...

Jefklak:
I checked eBay for Wizardry. They're cheaper than I thought, I expected them sell for $25, I mean those games are rare.
As for cheats, look on GameFAQs. There are some guides too.
Have fun

I bought mine in a second-hand shop, for a stunning sum of nearly 5 Euro !

I still can't understand why someone would sell this game ...

It's hard to get it here in Germany - I've seen it so far ionly in really big shops.
