Q: Can we be a female dragon commander in the campaign?

No – sadly not. Dragon Commander tells the story of the son of a dragon knight, and catering for all the different permutations that would occur as a result of having different possible genders didn’t match our budget.

This indeed saden me, but alass i still see hope in the moding community to chance if there is any, the avatar body to a more feminine apperance whitout altering the gameplay.

I'm disappointed, but not surprised.

Still... if the Dragon Commander is only ever in first person on the Raven and only ever in Dragon Form in cutscenes and combat and the script is cleverly worded to only call him 'Commander' or 'Family Name', I guess I could always try to pretend the Dragon Knight's female after all. And also, inevitably, gay.

As for modding in a more feminine body... that all depends on how often the human form shows up. If it's in cutscenes... well, good luck.

I just want to add that we did not take this decision lightly. The idea was to have princes as well as princesses with their own individual storylines, and the player couldn’t just be a male or female Dragon Knight; he or she could also opt for a same sex marriage. As per usual a lack of budget and time - not intent – sent these ideas packing.

I hope you’ll enjoy playing the game nonetheless, because we’ve infused our princesses with a lot of personality and they each have detailed and branching story arcs. I am very much trying to make sure that as a player you’ll feel like you’re talking to real women, not trophy wives to be won by the commander. Here’s hoping I more or less succeed!

Well done! I don't know if it was confirmed already, but I'm glad to hear the Raven and it's princesses will be strongly animated/scripted. Will these princesses also take revenge on the Dragon Knight when he doesn't treat them well?

Will there be a mission to get the Elf princess a tailor so the strap of her dress and bra don't fall down every 30 seconds?

Still give us a character import editor so we can put any skin we want ? as long as the dragon commander do not talk we are still far from the impossible here
